Patients can do range of motion, strengthening and endurance training in water within hours of injury or within days of surgery! The soothing warm-water buoyancy allows you to more easily perform therapeutic exercises that otherwise may be impossible on land.
By promoting improved circulation, aquatic therapy facilitates faster healing of the injured surgical site. Warm water (93 degrees to 94 degrees) is a relaxant that reduces pain and decreases muscle spasms and guarding (your bodys protective reaction to pain).
